Fakin’ The Funk? 6.0.164 for MacOS Download
Fakin’ The Funk? is an audio file quality analyzer that detects “fake” tracks with artificially increased bitrates (e.g., 128 kbps → 320 kbps), as well as damaged and unreadable files—in fully automated batch mode.
The app analyzes the spectral structure of the audio stream and compares the declared bitrate/frequency with the actual values. If the file has been upscaled or damaged, the algorithm identifies anomalies (such as high-frequency clipping) and displays the actual quality parameters.
Key benefits:
• Automatic batch processing – check thousands of files with one button.
• Not fooled by audio optimizers (eg Platinum Notes).
• Finds not only “fakes” (transcoded files), but also broken/unreadable files (with damaged structure or length discrepancy).
• Support for all popular formats – MP3, FLAC, M4A, OGG, OPUS, WMA, AAC, ALAC, WAV, MPC, SPX, TTA and others.
• Very high speed – on an SSD with an i7 processor it processes ~1000 files in 40 seconds.
• Built-in spectrum analyzer – shows the frequency cut-off so you can verify the result visually.
• Built-in player – you can immediately listen to a suspicious file.
• Deep integration with the system – Drag-and-Drop for transferring results.
• Automatically rename, move or delete “bad” files of your choice.
Compatibility: macOS 10.15 and later, ARM , x86 (64-bit)
