Add sources, then browse your way
You connect local “On My Mac” folders, Apple Music, Navidrome, OpenSubsonic, Plex, or Jellyfin with the plus button or File menu, then browse artists, albums, songs, playlists, or folders depending on what each source exposes. On My Mac libraries with Librarian enabled gain pins for albums and artists, favorites that focus playback on your best tracks, auto-skip to hide songs you never want to hear, and Journal notes that capture how a record felt over time. Single source mode moves Overview, Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists, and Folders into the sidebar when you mainly listen from one library, which is cleaner than keeping an empty source switcher visible all day. A typical session starts by picking a source, opening Albums or Artists, queuing a playlist, and letting playback continue while you pin the releases you want back tomorrow.
Playlists, scrobbling, and optional server mode
Mac-style playlist editing uses floating windows so you can drag tracks from the main library—or even the playback queue—into a playlist without losing sight of your collection. Last.fm and ListenBrainz scrobbling is optional under App Settings > Integrations and, according to the vendor, even works with Apple Music when enabled. Immersive View enlarges artwork with colors pulled from the cover for distraction-free listening. Radiccio Plus unlocks unlimited local sources, Navidrome, OpenSubsonic, Plex, Jellyfin, and the built-in Radiccio Server that publishes OpenSubsonic streams from Mac folders for phones on your LAN or over Tailscale, while scrobbling, playlist editing, and single source mode remain free.
Cost, platform, and where Music.app still wins
The free tier includes one “On My Mac” source, Apple Music playback, Finder file opening, and anonymous Bonjour server discovery with no time limit or ads. Plus costs $2.99 per month, $29.99 per year, or a $99.99 one-time purchase in the United States, with a trial for eligible customers. Apple Music content still requires its own subscription, playlist editing does not cover Apple Music libraries yet, and Journal or auto-skip availability varies by source type. Radiccio requires macOS 15 Sequoia or later and runs on Tahoe with the vendor’s Sequoia-style UI. Casual Apple Music-only listeners may never leave Music.app; collectors mixing Plex, Jellyfin, or purchased files are closer to the target audience. The vendor distributes version 1.5.1 through the Mac App Store.
