I did all William suggested, but it was still not working. I reverted to 5.0.3 and must trust the App (System Preferences > Privacy & Security) and granted Full Access. It then worked.

This app has been acting strange since a certain point. Especially since 2014, when it started displaying the flag of Ukraine—a country that has pursued a genocidal policy in the Donbas region, been tainted by extreme neo-Nazi ideology stemming from unjust hatred toward Russia—as its icon. I think this is an extremely abnormal political statement for a company to make. So, I’ve decided to uninstall all MacPaw products and never use them again.

forget this upload 5.0.4, it simply does not work. It’s not your fault and you can try everything and think about it all day long. Don’t waste your time. There is already 5.0.5 available on the net, wich works great! Just search for it.
Did not work for me on Mac mini m4, macos 15.3.2 even with the codesigning actions
Here’s what you should do for any app that gives you issues—without relying on random terminal commands that assume you’re on the exact same macOS version:
1. Download a small, inexpensive (or free) app called Find Any File. （https://www.mactorrentdownload.com/find-any-file-faf-2-5-5/）
2. Before using it, try removing all the old CleanMyMac junk it installs (similar to how SetApp uses your MAC address—if you want details on clearing that, let me know).
3. Open Find Any File, keep everything as is, and search for “cleanmy” under “Contains”.
4. You’ll see a ton of hidden files they use to detect cracked versions. Select all of them and delete.
5. Run another scan to ensure everything is removed.
6. Now, install CleanMyMac 5.0.4. The “purchase” prompt will appear at the top right for about 10 seconds and then disappear. Problem solved.
I used this on my M4 mbp, and only worked for a week, after that it closes because it’s not original. Any solution for this?

Instala cleanmymac, luego descarga Pearcleaner, busca y borra cleanmymac, vuelve a instalarlo y ya funciona, no dará mas el mensaje de pagar la licencia. A mi funciona la version 5.0.3, en M1 sequoia.

The truth is that I was very upset with the message to buy the program or close it, for me this program is essential in my macbook so I went looking for how to solve it, I installed previous versions that did work for me and I still got the message to buy or close the program. So I looked for alternatives and found Pearcleaner (free software) and installed all the versions of clean my mac that I had tried and they stopped working for me, once installed I started to uninstall them with Pearcleaner then I reinstalled the latest version of cleanmymac and disabled the internet to open the application and everything worked correctly.
Note: The problem is that once it is detected that the program does not have a license, a file is created in the system that does not allow installing more versions of cleanmymac, that is why Pearcleaner fixes the problem since it deletes this file.
I hope it works for you.
I gave up on this app because of the redesign. Not sure who they had doing the animations… they are terrible. MacCleaner Pro by Nektony is a good alternative

Followed the same steps and it worked
Go to System Settings/ Privacy and security and make sure allow application from app store and known developers is selected
Step 01 : first delete 5.0.4 cracked version
Step 02 : install original 5.0.4 version from the main website
Step 03 : After running the app(original version) once, close it and delete it by dragging application from Application folder to trash (ie. don’t use an uninstaller program).
Step 04 : Install 5.0.4 cracked version again
When you open the app you might get an error message, just click done.
Go to System settings / Privacy & Security and tap on the button “open anyway” and allow.
don’t bother anymore there is 5.0.5 released, and it works, just search for it

Does not work on 15.1.1 it detects it is a cracked version, I tried both a simple delete and a fancy delete (using an app) and the result are the same.
